I'm starting off this blog with a bang.
We have decided to adopt.
It has been a long journey to get to this point. If you aren't aware of our history, we have gone through two IVF cycles, neither of which were successful. We actually have a frozen embryo left that we could use for one last try, but we have decided to go ahead and move forward with adoption.
We are excited and apprehensive at the same time. This will be a long and more than likely complicated process with many ups and downs. We have been told that our expected wait time will be 12-18 months. It sounds like a long time, but we'll need it in order to save the money to even be able to afford this. When all is said and done we will have to pay approximately $25,000. That's a huge number and it scares me, but I think we can do this.
We plan on using this blog to keep everyone updated with our progress. We also plan on organizing some fundraisers and we'll use this space to help get the word out about those.
